This charger has been selected through Community Reviews and quickly become my “must-take” power supply. Xiaomi Quick Charge 3.0 is worth having for more than one reason. 6 reasons to be precise!
Xiaomi Quick Charge 3.0 Charger
It’s a charger, I get it. You plug it at one end and watch your devices get charged on the other. Why am I talking about it? Xiaomi Quick Charge 3.0 is absolutely worth having with you.
Considering the size, the I/O is impressive – 5 USB-A ports and USB-C enclosed in a case that is hardly bigger than an average wallet. The portability is great, however, living in the UK means that you will carry with you a monster of a plug.
- USB-C x 1 PD Quick Charge 3.0 specs
- USB-A x 1 Quick Charge 3.0 specs
- USB-A x 4 2.4A (4.8 A shared)
Quick Charge 3.0 means that I can not only charge my Xiaomi Mi 9 (review) in under an hour but also power my trusty miniDSO TS80 soldering iron (review).
There is still plenty of juice left to use across 4 USB-A plugs for almost 5A of charging current. That’s all ports I will ever need at the same time.
To make things better, Xiaomi Quick Charge 3.0 comes with a detachable cord which can be swapped for a compatible cable in your travel destination.
Power
The eagle-eyed readers will quickly notice that 4 USB-A ports can’t draw 2.4A each, and will be limited to 24W shared across it. These restrictions don’t apply to USB-C and USB-A QC3.0 where each port is rated at 18W.
This means that you can charge two phones with a speed of light. Unless you are like me and one of the phones is Xiaomi Mi 9 with 27W charging and Pixel 3 which doesn’t support anything that isn’t approved by Google.
Conclusion
It’s clear that I really like the form factor and blitz alike speed of Quick Charge of this Xiaomi Quick Charge 3.0 charger. If you need something that takes little space and delivers great performance without breaking the bank – this charger is a great choice. You can grab it for about $40 online.
