In times when Bluetooth speakers come in all forms and shapes, it’s good to see a company that follows another path. Röth & Myers aims to please the more demanding audience: audiophiles. Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L is a “connected” amp with more audio inputs than most of HiFi devices.
Kickstarting Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L Amp
I’m holding the media sample in my hands while the Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L amp is asking interested customers to kickstart their campaign. This is not the first product, so you can consider your support with confidence.

But wait, whats an Amp?
An amplifier is what you need to connect your audio input to a passive speaker. Passive speakers are still loved by many despite the domination of the portable Bluetooth speakers, so if you want to modernise your HiFi system and add a modern interface to your sound system the Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L is the way to go!
It’s all about I/O
Honestly, I have never seen such a rich audio interface. The Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L amp supports almost every modern audio input. Let me impress you with the list:

With DLNA support over WiFi and LAN, you can connect to the Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L from almost every device. There are integrations with most popular audio streaming services like Spotify, Napster, TuneIn or Tidal.
And if something isn’t supported, you can still connect to it like to any other Bluetooth speaker or use the 3.5mm audio cable.
No Chromecasting natively but…
It’s impressive, but the Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L doesn’t come with Google Play Music or YouTube Music support. These services use Chromecast services to stream music and this is not present.
You could add a Chromecast Audio to fix that, but despite having an HDMI port, I was no ability to use the traditional Chromecast. Looks like if you want to stream music from Google services, Bluetooth is the way to go.
OUTPUT
You are impressed already with the input, so let’s look what speakers you could hook up with the amp. Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L comes with 2.1 Audio, so you can use stereo speakers and a subwoofer.

- 3.5mm headphone jack (front panel)
Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L can feed speakers big enough to throw a home party. Overall sound quality will obviously depend on your source and the speakers itself.
Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L Amp
The design is well executed. A wooden shell finished off with a brushed alu front and satisfying knob to change the volume. There is a remote that covers most of the inputs and the usual playback control functions.
The only thing I would love to see is a better LCD screen. Unfortunately, you can’t see the playback information, just the basic operation modes including input changes and volume.
Overall, the amp is pleasing to the eye, takes very little space and it does what it suppose to!
Röth & Myers App
To take advantage of the Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L amp, you should download the app on your phone. You will be able to browse DLNA folders on your local network, play music directly from your mobile or change the volume or tracks.
Since the amp is a DLNA & Bluetooth player, nothing stops you to connect it directly with Amazon Echo or Google Home device as a speaker. You will be able to control the playback with voice commands. If you have DLNA enabled storage, you can browse the music directly from the app. The integration is seamless and I was able to see the music stored on my NASpi and MusicPi.
Conclusion
Ever since I got the Xiaomi DLP projector, I wanted to have a reason to build the cinema sound to go with it! It seems that Röth & Myers BOSK-NP210L amp is a great device to do that without running extra wires everywhere! It’s still time to get this amp via Kickstarter, so do not hesitate!
